About Me!
Hello, my name is Tina Nakata, and I am an actor, dancer, and singer. Knowing me is knowing the reason why I do theatre.

I was born and raised in Tokyo, Japan until 15 years old when I decided to move to Vancouver to attend a fine arts high school to study theatre living away from my parents. Why? you'd ask. It all started when I was 9 years old watching the Tony Award Ceremony in Japan. I was struck by the dazzling performances and the luminous stage in front of a huge audience in the heart of New York City. That was the night my journey all began. A tiny Japanese girl started dreaming big to be on Broadway one day.

I attended the B.F.A. Acting program at The Pennsylvania State University. I appeared in two Centre Stage productions; one in Hit the Wall by Ike Holter, and Everybody by Branden Jacobs-Jenkins. In Everybody, I played one of the main characters, Somebody.
Since 2024, I have been pursuing my B.F.A. in Musical Theatre at Nazareth University.
Besides performing, I like to teach theatre classes for young artists. I recently spent my summer at Frech Woods Festival of the Performing Arts where I led theatre classes such as Acting technique, Monologue, Audition prep, Movement, and Musical Theatre Song and Scene Workshop. I also Assist directed four musicals and directed a one-act play.
